Cygnets (3-4 years)
Unaccompanied lessons designed to develop water confidence and basic skills.
ASA awards: Duckling grades 1-5

Shrimps (4+)
Lessons for young beginners with little or no experience in the water (shallow water).
ASA awards: Puffin, Water Skills

Starfish
Lessons for more confident beginners who are able to swim a few metres unaided (shallow water).
ASA awards: Rainbow Distance, Water Skills

Jellyfish
Lessons for improvers in deeper water with the introduction of skills such as treading water and diving.
ASA awards: Rainbow Distance, Water Skills

Pufferfish
Lessons for improvers focusing on technique on all 4 strokes, whilst developing more advanced skills such as turns and sculling.
ASA awards: Rainbow Distance, Rainbow Stroke, Water Skills

Seals
Lessons for improvers looking to increase stamina and move towards the competitve arena. Personal survival skills are introduced.
ASA awards: Swim Challenge, Personal Survival, Rainbow Distance, Rainbow Stroke

All lessons run on Saturday mornings between 9-11.30

Cygnets classes have a maximum of 4, Shrimp and Starfish classes have a maximum of 6 and all others have a maximum of 8.

Prices:

Lessons are paid in advance on a term time basis. The Cygnet classes cost £8.00 per half hour lesson and all other classes cost £6.50 per half hour lesson.

Term dates:

Sat 7th January- Sat 11th February (6 weeks)
Sat 25th February- Sat 31st March (6 weeks)


Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) Awards/Badges:

Children will have the opportunity twice a year to obtain an award appropriate to their ability. Teachers will follow ASA guidelines in order to assess children. Awards range from Duckling (aimed at Cygnet classes) to Water Skills and Rainbow Distance (all levels).
